Boreal footwear for hiking and climbing
Boreal has been solidifying its path in the world of climbing and hiking since 1975. The family company designs, develops, manufactures and tests footwear and equipment in Villena, Spain. The founder of Jesus Garcia Lopez was an expert in hiking boots. The legendary Spanish climbers, the Gallego brothers, asked him to make them special climbing shoes with a specific rubber sole. Together they started experimenting and Boreal's first climbing frame "El Capitan" hit the stores.
The development of innovative materials and footwear models elevates them among the top manufacturers. They developed the Dry-Line® waterproof membrane system, rubber for Zenith climbing shoes.
All their products are made in Villena, Spain, even the rubber on all climbing shoes is made in their factory, and all the shoes are handmade. After 40 years, Boreal is still in family hands.
