Neti pot ceramic nasal irrigation

The ceramic Neti pot treats symptoms of nasal allergies, sinus problems, or colds. Using a neti pot can help when indoor air dries out the nasal passages. Nasal irrigation with warm salt water is also known as Jala Neti and is one of the six yogic cleansing exercises called Shat Kriyas. Nasal irrigation has a positive effect on the entire nasal cavity and throat (dust, pollen, and deposits are loosened and washed away).

Regular use of the Neti pot for nasal irrigation can prevent respiratory diseases in a natural and gentle way and help with nasal congestion, colds, or sinusitis.

Using the Neti pot

To rinse the nose with a Neti pot, dissolve half a teaspoon in 250 ml of warm water. Use sea or rock salt without iodine. You can buy a ready-made mixture at the pharmacy (saline solution).

Stand in front of the sink, lean your whole body forward so that the water flows into the sink. Tilt your head slightly to the side and forward. Insert the “nose” of the Neti pot into the nostril that is higher, so that the nostril is sealed. Then the water from the cup flows through the upper nostril into the lower nostril. Make sure that the head is not tilted too far back so that the water does not get into the throat. Breathe through your mouth while cleaning. Finally, wait a little until the water really flows out of the lower nostril, and then blow through the nostril to empty the nasal cavity. Repeat the process with the other nostril.
